Help your child to reach 5 #helpachildreach5 (Sponsored Video)

I just came across this video campaign by Lifebuoy. It's part of their project- "Help your child to reach 5", trying to stop the spread of diseases causing 5000 children under 5 to die every year.

It's so sad. Nothing can surpass the love of a mother for her child or the sadness of losing a child. In Utari’s village in Indonesia, a tree is planted at a child’s birth. In such villages, many children lose their lives before their fifth birthday to diseases like diarrhoea that could be prevented through washing hands. All that remains, as in Utari’s case, is the tree.

The simple act of hand washing with soap and water is something we take for granted. Even in 'clean' countries like Singapore, I know that frequent washing keeps my hands germ free and helps prevent flu and infections.

Lifebuoy’s on a mission to help celebrate every child’s fifth birthday, by stopping the spread of preventable diseases which cause 5,000 children under five to die every day.
The simple act of hand washing can prevent many life-threatening diseases like diarrhoea and pneumonia. Last year, Lifebuoy adopted Thesgora, India and by teaching healthy hand washing habits, reduced incidents of diarrhoea from 36% to 5%. This year, they will adopt Bitobe, Indonesia.

You can find out more from the Lifebuoy Facebook page or Lifebuoy website. Help children reach their 5th birthday by sharing this video and Utari’s story on social media with #helpachildreach5

The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet Review

I'm back in sunny Singapore ! Back in the heat!  :)
I only just got my hands on the new The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet & Body Sorbets to test out.  These products will be in stores on the 16th of June 2014.

Perfect to beat the heat... I love applying the body sorbet on my skin after showering! I store these sorbets in the fridge for an extra refreshing feel. I always love the shower gels and body butters at The Body Shop because of the smells, especially the fruity scents. But sometimes I find the body butters just too thick for hot sweaty days.

These sorbets are very hydrating yet they are much lighter and easily absorbed into my skin. Available in four fruity flavours - Strawberry, Mango, Peach and Satsuma and one floral fragrance - Moringa. They contain 100% organic Community Fair Trade Aloe Vera from Guatemala.
For my face, I like using the Vitamin E Aqua boost Sorbet as a day time moisturiser.

With wheatgerm oil, and Community Fair Trade shea butter and soya oil, Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet combines natural moisturising power with the latest technology to hydrate. Each pot contains over 2 MILLION Aqua Spheres, delivering a 24 HOUR feed of moisturisation to my skin.

I love the light texture that sinks quickly into my skin leaving a rather matte finish. It feels cooling on the skin. This sorbet is not heavy or sticky like a cream. It has a light floral scent.

Yes it's hot and often sweltering here in Singapore, but after spending more than a month in the cold, I'm happy to traipse about in my singlet, shorts and flip flops again... end enjoying refreshing COLD showers (hated showering in Scotland cos it gets uncomfortably too cold to take my clothes off! So I kinda only showered every other day there.. lol.. ewww me right).

Went to the Salon with Hubby this Week :)

Earlier this week I went to Shunji Matsuo Hair Studio with my husband. He's been having his hair cut by William for many months now... but this week was the first time ever that we both had the time to go down to the salon together.   :)  I love doing couple things!
I recommended William to my husband because I love his service, skills and his very pleasant personality. Plus he gets a discount for his haircut. You can get the discount too, just mention my name- HOLLY (say you're my friend, or reader, or just show him this blogpost) and you get 10% OFF all services with William.
This week, William refreshed both my colours (the brown and the pink) and trimmed my hair. The brown is a soft brown from Loreal which compliments the hot pink part of my hair very well.
I also enjoyed the hair treatment, I really missed it when I was away all month in May. Being in a drier climate and using shitty travel sized shampoos all month long really took a toll on my hair. It got so dry! The hair treatment was an immediate rescue and it restored my hair to it's previous condition before I left. Yay!
Finally, the finishing touches.... and.....
... tadah! ... Oh pretty hair!!!

Today I was at the L'Oreal Paris Brunch Party at their new HQ at One George Street. Brunch was yummy, from Privé. And it was my first time trying the L'Oreal HydraFresh Range.
This range is refreshing and very hydrating. There's a creamy foam cleanser, hydrating softening spa water, mask-in lotion and mask-in water gel. We did a skin moisture test before and after, mine went from 12% to over 50% just from applying the HydraFresh Mask-in Water gel..
Samsung also introduced to us bloggers their latest camera the NXmini. So slim and lightweight and takes great selfies thanks to the front facing screen and it's wink detect timer (just wink and it'll snap in 2 seconds!).
L'Oreal and Samsung are collaborating to bring you a weekly contest. Just take a creative photo of yourself using the Hydrafresh Mask-in Water Gel and upload it onto Instagram @lorealparissg #hydrafreshSg #NXminiSg    Good Luck! :)

Hada Labo Whitening Perfect Gel won the Best Newcomer Moisturiser. I love Hada Labo products since the very start and this gel is a great all-in-one type product.
L'Oreal L'extraordinaire by Color Riche won the Best Newcomer Lipstick. These lippies have good pigmentation and such a smooth creamy feel.
Nivea Invisible Black & White Pure Deodorant Roll-On won the Best Newcomer Women Deodorant. I know this product because my husband uses the men's version of this and he always smells fresh even after long walks.
L'Oreal Elseve ExtraOrdinary Oil won the Best Newcomer Leave On Hair Treatment in the Experts Pick category. This is a great oil for damaged hair. I apply it in the morning about 30 mintutes before my shower. It shampoos off and leaves my hair well conditioned.
The luncheon organised by Guardian was a fabulous affair, the food was lovely and I especially enjoyed the entertainment by the president of SPGs haha.
Thanks for the invite Guardian! I look forward to seeing even more new great products on your shelves soon.

P.S.- Word on the street is that some time towards the 3rd quarter of this year, we'll be able to shop at Guardian online... (plus possibly same day delivery!)... the lazy vain girl in me says YAY!!!!!

JBL Voyager Speaker Review

I've been wanting a bluetooth speaker for my home for a while now because wireless connections make my home so much neater and more efficient. I just got the new JBL Voyager speaker.
I was pleasantly surprised with its versatility! It's not only a permanent sound dock in my home, but it can also pick up calls from my smartphone and I can detach part of this speaker to become a portable speaker too. Woot!
You can get the JBL Voyager speaker at all good Apple and IT Resellers in Singapore. It costs S$429, incl. 7% GST and is available in black or white.
The JBL Voyager is an industry first. It combines the legendary JBL desktop sound, unparalleled portability and Bluetooth enabled connectivity for music & clear phone calls. All in one sleek stylish design.
I connect it to play music from my iPhone via bluetooth. It's very easy to set up, I simply switch the bluetooth on my device on and select the JBL Voyager connection which pops up on my screen. Then I play my music on my iPhone and it's automatically blasted out of the JBL Voyager. It's such a powerful sound dock and the music fills my whole living room. Apart from bluetooth, this speaker also has a 3.5mm jack for wired connections too.
This versatile speaker is really two products in a single package. You see, this speaker has two parts; a detachable disc-shaped portable speaker, and the larger dock surrounding it. The dock itself is a powerful subwoofer which produces great thumping bass sounds when docked.
The portable little disc shaped speaker can work completely independently from the dock for up to five hours. After 5 hours, just return it to the dock for it to get charged up. You can take this compact portable speaker with you to a different room of the house and still enjoy crystal clear sound. It even works great outdoors away from home, if you're planning a picnic or BBQ at the beach.

Have a peek at my 15 second video of the JBL Voyager on my instagram (click here).
For more than 60 years, the JBL® brand has been a leader in professional sound reproduction. The JBL name has been synonymous with the precise, naturally articulated sound found in many of the world's most prestigious locations, including clubs, cinemas and recording studios, and live-music reinforcement in venues ranging from concert halls to outdoor stadiums.

Now you can have that same JBL sound quality in your home, car, portable media player, boat, computer and gaming systems. To check out the Voyager and other JBL products, head to the JBL Singapore FB page  (don't forget to LIKE it too).

Milking Gender Equality. Get Your GF to Pay!

$

I've had an appalling number of stingy boyfriends in the past. Some of them were blatantly scrooges... while others devised some rather sneaky ways to get me to pay for stuff.  lol

Now, I'm not saying that girls don't need to pay for anything ever, and that boyfriends must pay for her. Not at all. And I'm ok with guys being frugal and not spending money like it grows on trees, but he shouldn't be stingy with his money and then just milk it off the girl instead! And when it comes to dates, and couple related expenses, I feel that the guy should shoulder most of the expenses.

So guys, if you're trying to find ways to get your GF to pay for stuff without coming across as stingy.... read on as I share the tactics of my ex BFs. (Of course, not all my exes were stingy... but many were!) And girls, be aware of these tricks... though when you're in love, you probably won't see it (you will only seethe in retrospect. haha).

1. Disappear when it's time to pay.
When I was in secondary school, I went out with this cheapo guy who always went to the toilet or found a way to excuse himself every time the bill was expected. Then he would come back after to say- "Oh, you paid already? Oh... thanks, thanks, I'll get the next one then."

I had another ex BF who shared with me this tactic (I was talking to him after we broke up, and he started dating another girl)... he was telling me about how he purposely said he had to go to the toilet while they were in the queue to buy movie tickets. When he got back, expecting her to have bought the tickets for their movie date... he was surprised to see that she was standing aside letting other people go ahead, waiting for him to get back.

HAHAHAHAAA backfired. But WTF, this girl no money or no pride or what? I would have just paid for the tickets lah. ( And then remember his dodgy ways forever so I can blog about it one day. Lol)

2. Split the expenses... unfairly
More recently, I had this one boyfriend who earns shit loads more than I do. But whenever we went on holiday together (always short weekend getaways)... he would split the expenses but rather unfairly. So it's like Rah! Rah! Rah! *excited* let's go to KL on the weekend. Just one night there, but it would be great to take the train (it was one of the last train rides from Singapore into Malaysia before the railway station shut for good). Baby, you get the train tickets and I'll sort out the hotel for us.

Then we get there by train which cost me over SGD130 for two people (each way!)... to stay in a teeny hotel room that cost him 50 ringgit. You would think he would maybe splash out for a 100 ringgit room at the very least  -_-
This is me lying on the bed, my feet can touch the toilet and room door. He really knows how to impress a girl. Hahaa. Plus this is a room for BOTH of us. Thanks ah.

3. Pretend she has upset you
You can always get upset with the girl towards the end of the meal, so you can refuse to pay for it because you are FURIOUSSSSSSSSSSSSS with her (emmy award type of fury)... and not because you are just stingy (the reality).

An ex Bf and I were having Japanese food at Wheelock. Then when we were done eating the waitress came by to ask if everything was ok? I said, very good, thank you, oh and can we get the bill please?

Then when she came back with the bill, she tried to pass it to him but he blocked it with his hand and pointed to me. He snapped ," She asked for it, she can pay for it".  Eh?  Apparently, he felt it was rather rude of me to ask for the bill... hence his anger.

What are some of the most stingy experiences you've come across in the world of dating?

P/S- when I was a teacher, one of my colleagues' BF gave her a Parker pen for her birthday. She got him gifts like holidays before. WTF man.  Just saying.

Quick Review! Coverderm CC Cream

Just a quick review of this new product I'm using as my foundation - Coverderm CC Cream for face.
On the package, it promises- 12-in-1 benefits
1. Skin Brightening
2. anti-blemish
3. anti-aging
4. nourishing
5. moisturizing
6. soothing
7. UVA/UVB protection (SPF25)
8. anti-irrritant
9. skin tone unifying
10. anti-redness
11. sebum control
12. pore tightening
It comes in 2 shades, Light Beige and Soft Brown. I'm using the darker one which is for tanned skin. At first when I squirted it out, I was like woah, this is darker than my usual foundation. But surprisingly, it blended easily and the colour evened out to match my skin tone. Very natural finish... not grey tinged like some other BB and CC creams I've tried.
It's also waterproof so it's ideal for sweaty climates. Does not get patchy.  I have sensitive skin and this product is fine for me, no itch or tightness. Didn't clog my pores, at the end of the day, I just removed with my regular make up remover.

If you're looking for a new foundation, BB, or CC cream... try this one from Coverderm.

Worst Wedding Guests

$

My wedding didn't really have any bad guests. At most, some people got really drunk towards the end of the celebrations, but that was at the after party down at the beach at Cafe Mambo Sentosa and we totally anticipated it.

The ceremony and lunch at the Moevenpic Heritage Hotel on Sentosa was great and I didn't sweat the little things... like wrong music playing, the waiters asking my guests if they wanted chicken or fish when I already specifically fixed it as ALL fish, except the muslim table (and there was only one muslim table) so when other guests started saying, oh there's fish, ok I'll have fish... there wasn't enough fish to go around!

Also, I had one whole table almost empty (only 3 of my friends sitting).... because a whole bunch of David's guests didn't turn up. I really should be mad at him, because I spent so much time planning all this and sending the invites out. All I asked him to do was call and check on his friends who didn't RSVP. I did that for my side of the guest list, I even messaged and reminded my friends about it in the days leading up to the wedding because I'm obsessive like that. But for his friends, he just said, "They'll be there."  -_-  hmph.

So yeah the worse kind of people to invite to your wedding are the kind of people who just don't turn up last minute... very bad.... don't they know the cost of each seat at a wedding banquet? Or the time that was put in to the sitting arrangements? Don't they care that their action says... meh... I changed my mind about going last minute because I woke up feeling lazy?

I surprised myself by not freaking out that day, but I guess you don't really have the time to freak out on your wedding day, everything just goes so fast!

KohePets Great Singapore Sale

I'm in Phuket at the moment. And theres something about this trip I want to talk about, so I'll blog about that hopefully tomorrow when I find a bit of time to sit at the computer...
Before I left for Phuket, I got dog food and treats from KohePets online. Delivery is right to my doorstep (in Singapore) and it's free delivery for orders above $50. You can pay online or just pay cash on delivery. Very convenient, prices are great and their range of pet food, treats, and accessories is huge. Right now they're having lots of deals because of the Great Singapore Sale too.

New product that caught my eye. From the brand Barking Heads... love the cute packaging and decided to try it because it comes in small packages. Lola doesn't like to eat much kibbles (but it's good for her diet!) so she takes a very long time to finish large bags of kibbles, so I prefer to buy the smallest portions available as I feel it keeps her food fresher, not stored in my cupboard so long. Large bags better for big dogs, or dogs on purely kibble diets.
I chose the Barking Heads Fusspot Salmon & Potato (2Kg bag/ $27)... it's supposed to be great for picky eaters. So happy she's eating up the kibbles I put in her bowl instead of turning her nose up at kibbles. Hope she keeps this up.  :)
I usually get the Cheese sticks for her from this brand called DoggyMan... and she loves them. This time I noticed that KohePets has a new flavours of DoggyMan treats. I just thought I'd get the DoggyMan Hello Doggy Cheese with Pumpkin  and the DoggyMan Round Sasami . OMG She loves them both. Yummm!

P/S - We are planning to get another dog... but I worry it might not get along with Lola, or will be too much hard work.. cos not every dog is as easy going as Lola. Do you know of any home breeders which have mixed dogs? Or any young dogs for adoption (below 4 yrs)? Like Lola who is a Mini MorKie (Maltese and Yorkie), I'd like to get maybe a MalChi (Maltese and Chihuahua cross).

PP/S- for those who worry... Lola is not in some kennel while we are away on holiday. She's at my mum and dad's home, where she grew up at, so she's very used to it and happy to be there.

3 Years On - Phuket Anniversary

$

According to David, we have known each other for exactly 3 years this week. Sometimes I think oh my husband is so unromantic, but then he surprises me by being somewhat sentimental over things that I never take note of.
David thought it would be a good idea to come back to Phuket where we had our very first trip together 3 years ago. Back then, I had only known David for less than a week when we decided to just go for a holiday together.

I remember I paid for the air tickets (because I insisted), and he booked and paid for the hotel. When we arrived at the Royal Phuket Yacht Club in Naiharn, I thought he was trying hard to impress me (lol) because it was a great hotel and we had such a gorgeous room! (Remember, before I met him, I had been dating some real cheapo BFs?!)

We couldn't get that hotel this time round as it's under renovation and is closed for 1 year.
Well, anyway, to reminisce, I re-read my blog post 3 years ago about that first trip to Phuket with him (Click here). At first I thought, oh I used to be so skinny then, *sulk*.  And then as I read on, I was surprised to find so many discouraging and brutal comments in that post. I don't think it hurt me very much back then, because generally I don't really bother about what people say about me, especially when I don't even know who they are.

But looking back in retrospect, I'm so amused by all the nasty comments.
They are so so so quick to judge. Just because I date someone new, or go on holiday with someone it means I have no respect for myself and I AM LOOSE.... Just Sleeping around with any man who will take me on holiday.  -_-
You know, sad thing is... I have dated people in the past who would read comments like that and believe it. Or worse still, read my blog and form those opinions about me themselves, before they made the effort to really know me.
There were quite a few more in the comments section but I only picked out a few for examples. This one suggesting that I should 'keep my legs closed". LOL
Oh how quickly we judge. My dear critics, I'll have you know that when we went on that holiday, it wasn't to have Sex... we went on holiday together because we enjoyed each other's company, and we both like to travel and experience new things. All this is much more fun when you have someone to share the experiences with.

So no, I wasn't a slut opening my legs for a free holiday. We never even had sex then. In fact, we waited one and a half years, for our wedding night. But I just never told you that... so you just went ahead making your own assumptions based on your own poor moral standards.

I have to say though, that there were some supportive readers who stood up for me, and that made me smile. It's always easier to sling those stones than to try to shield someone from them. And for that, I thank you.
And to end this post, I just want to say, David, Happy Anniversary baby! It's been a great 3 years since we first met... and a great one and a half years of marriage so far. Thank you being so strong and for not buying into all the bullshit criticism and never letting it affect you or our relationship. You surprised me, you really did.

The Latest Hervé Léger Styles at the NEW BagCharmLove

Have you noticed that Hervé Léger has had a transformation this season? The dresses no long just hug every curve on the body and shout SEX! The Hervé Léger style this season is more sophisticated, with a play on different types of cuts, draping and prints.

At my recent shoots with BagCharmLove which is one of the best blogshops in Singapore for Hervé Léger inspired dresses... I was surprised and delighted to find that they had not only caught on with this transformation so quickly but the variety they have is great too.

You can still get gorgeous cocktail type bandage dresses from them but this season, do look out for all their corporate suitable dresses. They come in longer length, different colours (and print), and the cuts are both smart and elegant.

All the dresses have trendy styles, flattering cutting and top notch bandage material quality, yet the prices are affordable and the dresses look so much more expensive that they really are at BagCharmLove.

Love this shade of purple, the wider sleeves make this dress so demure yet it maintains the curvey silhouette.
This is my favourite! Hello houndstooth!!! And the lattice type weave on the top plus the sweet shade of pink on the waist... oh what a great combination! I also love the pleats on the skirt because this makes the skirt flare out a little while still maintaining a structured look. Great for the office.

This is another office appropriate dress. I love this shade of blue, I  don't see it often.
You can also pair crop tops with high-waisted skirts or if it's for work, pair this skirt with a slimfit long sleeved shirt instead. The unique thing about this skirt is the hemline.

Btw, a special thanks goes out to the folks at Redundant Shop (Wanderlust Hotel) for providing us the venue for the shoot above. :)

Also in the latest collection this week is this all black dress that has a fit-and-flare silhouette, instead of hugging every curve.
Beautiful gradients of blue on this tube dress...

But it's also available in solid colours like this tangerine. These are almost knee length and would make great dresses for work when you throw on a cropped jacket or blazer over. They're all comfortable to wear. Best thing is... all these dresses are so gorgeous, you can pop out for a date or drinks straight after work and still look fabulous!
Check out the newly revamped BagCharmLove website for this new collection :)

The Face Aesthetic Clinic

As you probably know by now, I go to Q&M @RafflesPlace for my dental aesthetic needs, and I find it so convenient to have all the facilities under one roof. At Q&M @RafflesPlace, there is also The Face Aesthetic Clinic.
The Face Aesthetic Clinic is a flagship aesthetic clinic with a strong focus on non-invasive aesthetic procedures that provide customised solutions tailored for all your face, skin and body concerns.  My consultation with Dr Zhang was very helpful and I found it easy to discuss my skin issues with him.  My main concern is that my skin looks dull and feels dry. My skin is uneven and blotchy most of the time. I think it's just in my genes to have dry and sensitive skin but I'm quite pleased to have found 2 treatments which works wonders on my skin.
Dr Zhang Yijun, received his medical degree and post graduate Family Medicine qualification at the National University of Singapore and obtained his postgraduate Diploma in Practical Dermatology at Cardiff University, UK. He spent time practicing at the National Skin Centre years back, treating patients who had severe acne and scarring, igniting his interest in Aesthetics.

He has a special interest in treating acne, scarring and pigmentation through the use of cutting edge Light and Laser technology, Dermal Fillers and Botox to address wrinkles and facial augmentation.

Before the start of any facial, I usually have an IPL treatment for skin rejuvenation (they have IPL for Acne or Pigmentation too). IPL (short for intense pulsed light), is a non-invasive procedure that produces bursts of high-intensity light to treat problem areas on the skin. IPL has helped stimulate my collagen production and also make my pores less visible.

I've always heard that IPL burns and pinches... but the IPL treatment on my face wasn't painful or uncomfortable at all. My therapist was very careful to set the intensity at the right level for my skin and she talked me through the process so I knew what she was doing and what to expect.

The very first facial I had at the clinic was the Crystal Clean treatment. It was a micro-dermabrasion procedure which removed impurities and dead cells which were causing my skin to look dull and uneven. A unique spiral applicator was then used to apply a generous concoction of anti-oxidants, coupled with Vitamin A, E and natural ingredients and herbs into my skin to allow for deep cleansing to take place. The last step of this treatment was a luxurious and pampering face mask. This procedure also removed my whiteheads, blackheads and unclogged my pores without the pain of traditional extractions.

Before this treatment, I had loads of tiny black heads on my nose. I do use a pore-pack nose sticker every few weeks, but it just could not lift those black heads. But this Crystal Clean treatment managed to suck out all of those black heads. Usually extractions make my skin sore and blotchy, but this one was not painful and not rough on my skin. I love advanced technology... no more old school extractions for me, that's for sure!

I took this selfie straight after treatment, my skin felt unbelievably clean and soft, it was glowing! What I love most about this treatment is that there is no downtime. You know how some harsh chemical peels can leave your skin red or flaky for days before you can see results, this treatment gives you the same results, immediately, without any discomfort. It costs $130 and takes about 45 minutes (perfect for a lunch time quick fix!).
A couple of weeks later, I went back for the Vitamin C Facial (My Fair Lady). This is a skin lightening facial that uses Lumi-White Vitamin C that is many times stronger and contains more antioxidant efficacy than plain vitamin C alone. Here's a short video clip of the Vitamin C Facial I had.

This procedure was painless, I found it so soothing. This is another quick fix that shows instant results with no down time. The cost of My Fair Lady is $99 for 40 minutes.

Ugh, look at the dead cells, dirt and impurities on that wand (it was pure white before starting the treatment)... all that came from my skin and pores.

I had lunch with my friend before going for this Vitamin C facial, and when I was done, I met up with her again straight after. She actually said in amazement,"OMG, I can see your skin is fairer!"  I was so happy, because while the treatment itself is pampering and enjoyable.... for someone else to see the results so quickly, really delighted me. Yays!  (She wished she had gone for a facial after lunch rather than waste her time shopping. Haha)

If you're in need of an effective clinical grade facial that is also pampering and luxurious, I recommend both the Crystal Clean and Vitamin C Facial. If you looking for other procedures like botox or fillers, you will find it here too. For more info on Dr Zhang and the treatments available at The Face Aesthetic Clinic, click here.
Ok, here's another peek of my skin now just after a shower this morning, no make up. I can feel and see the improvement, and it will only get better. :)

OMICAL - Pure Organic Milk

I'm already 33! Our bones reach maximum density at the age of 30, then we start to lose bone mass at a faster rate. Lack of proper calcium supplementation can lead to diseases such as osteoporosis, hyperparathyroidism, hypertension, arthritis, rickets, etc. These conditions affect everyone from the very young to the old, and even the seemingly healthy.
It's important to start calcium supplements from now and make it part of my daily diet so in later in life, I won't be that lady who breaks her hip from a fall  :(  .
International Osteoporosis Foundation revealed in 2010 that 1 in 3 Singaporeans above the age of 35 are at risk of developing osteoporosis. 1 in 3!! We must have such poor diets!

Apart from preventing osteoporosis, benefits of calcium include:
• Healthy bones, teeth and gums
• Blood Pressure Control
• Proper Blood Clotting
• Enzyme Activation
• Nerve Transmission
• Cholesterol Regulation
• Hormone Function

OMICAL is an organic calcium supplement that is derived from pure organic milk, the first and most natural, wholesome form of calcium. From a natural food source, it has the best optimal absorption of calcium compared to other supplements.

Many calcium supplements actually contain salts of calcium that are sourced from rocks, shells and crushed bones. Ewww!! No worries, OMICAL does not contain any of that. It is made from pure organic milk!

OMICAL is also a milk mineral complex with Magnesium, Vitamin D, Potassium, Iron & more, ensuring optimal bone health. HSA lab test confirms that OMICAL has no traces of lead, mercury, and arsenic that is found in other calcium supplements. It is suitable for children, pregnant and lactating mothers.
Even if you are lactose intolerant (90% of Asians are lactose intolerant to some degree!) you can still take OMICAL. It is very low in lactose. It is derived from pure milk, so you get all the nutrients from milk without the fat, steroids, antibiotics and hormones.
I just take two tablets a day, doesn't matter if it's before or after food as it doesn't cause any upset tummy for me. It doesn't have any bad smell or after taste. You can take take two tablets one to two times a day, or as directed by your physician.

OMICAL is available at Guardian, Unity, Watsons, and independent pharmacies ($31.90 / 60s tablets)

For more information you can check out www.omical.com.sg

Neutrogena Deep Clean Review

Since I was a teenager, I've been familiar with the brand Neutrogena. I still use the Neutrogena Rain Bath when I shower because it is incredibly refreshing... and I used to use the Neutrogena Cleansing Bar when I had an acne plagued phase as a teenager. Neutrogena products have always been affordable and easily available off the shelves of any toiletries store. And it's a brand that is synonymous with high quality. It's a brand that has over 60 years experience in skin care. In fact, it is the #1 dermatologist-recommended skin care brand.
I've been having some build up on my skin, it doesn't feel smooth. I just came back from Phuket a couple of weeks ago, it was constant sweat and sunblock on my face... with rather lazy and lax cleansing once I'm exhausted back at the hotel  :(

A good cleanser is a true foundation of beauty. With healthy skin, I look better naturally, because my complexion becomes more radiant. Even when I do use make up, it applies better on my skin without looking patchy or uneven.
So I decided to get the Neutrogena Deep Clean Hydrating Foaming Cleanser to give my skin a deep clean, without stripping it of all the moisture in the process and because I have dry sensitive skin so I really can't afford to use a harsh cleanser.

I just squirt a pea sized amount on my finger and it's a fresh minty green colour. This product doesn't have a strong scent, it's very pleasant. It creates a rich lather in my hands and this lather feels gentle on my face. Even when I work the lather into my skin, in a light massaging motion, it doesn't sting my skin. Usually other cleansers which promise a deep clean can be too harsh on my skin and I feel it stinging after a few seconds. I don't have this problem with Neutrogena Deep Clean.
It rinses off easily and doesn't leave behind any residue. Straight after cleansing, my skin feels cleaner and fresher but not dry and not tight. It actually feels supple and soft. This cleaner has a water mineral complex which delivers 2 times the power of Hydrating. It definitely delivers hydration as promised.
After a week of use, I find my skin getting smoother, and the build up I had before is gone. With every wash, it removed impurities from deep within to leave my skin clean and more hydrated.

This cleanser provides effective cleaning (99% impurity removal) and hydration that leaves the face looking clean and supple. This happens because of use of special water mineral complex.Water mineral complex consists of the combination of Copper Gluconate; Magnesium Aspartate; Zinc Gluconate and Water all of which are known to improve skin hydration.
I find that when my skin is cleaned properly, it is better able to absorb nutrients and my other skin care products like my moisturiser and serum sink into my skin more easily. It makes my foundation and powder sit better and longer on my skin. If you have dirty skin with clogged pores and build up of impurities, it just messes up all your other skin care steps. So why not get it right from the start, especially since it's so easy to get a deep clean.

Here's my short video review:

I love this Deep Clean range because it makes perfect sense to me. You need a product that can cleanses your skin from deep within in order for it to deliver its hydrating effects. It's not just on the surface, but it's a daily commitment to keep skin clean and thus keep improving from the benefits delivered by  the product.

If you don't have dry skin and want a deep clean with a brightening effect instead, try the Neutrogena Deep Clean Brightening Foaming Cleanser. It has vitamin complex and mulberry extracts for 2 X brightening.

My top 3 picks for Women
1. Sqweel 2 is the new and improved version of the Sqweel. Lapping silicone tongues to stimulate your clit, it's the closest you can get to oral sex on your own.
2.Layla Rabbit Vibrator . Every woman should have a rabbit because it's a multi tasker and never disappoints. Plus this white one is so pristine
3. Clone A Willy allows you to create a life sized and realistic rubber dildo of your man's penis. Every vein and ridge on his penis will be an exact copy on the cloned willy. You can even choose from 3 different skin tones. Hahaaaa sounds like so much fun :)

My Top 3 Picks for Men
1. Optimum Suck and Stroke Masturbator is the most advanced sex toy for men. Women may have the 'Rabbit' but this one is out of this world! The material gives it a natural flesh feel, and there's both suction and vibration. If it were me, I would use this with a little lube to give it a moist and even more realistic feeling.
2Tenga 3D Pile is beautiful. Looks like a piece of art you can display on your shelf... but it's actually a masturbator that gives both soft and hard sensations.
3. Tongue Teaseris a vibrating contraption that fits comfortably over his tongue and it turns his tongue into the ultimate cunnilingus machine. How awesome is that.

Here's my review of the products I just got...
I chose the LELO Anti-Bacterial Toy Cleaning Spray, the new Zush Bullet Vibrator, a Mini Portable Nipple Pump because I've never tried one before and am very curious!

Zush Bullet Vibrator
I love bullet vibrators because they are so discreet and small... yet, with the right quality of materials and motor, it can give the most intense orgasms through clitoral stimulation. The Zush Bullet Vibrator is tiny, and the body is sleek and a very elegant silver colour. I like that it is waterproof, so I can wash it under a tap to clean it.
To operate, just click on the button at the bottom. Each click gives you a different vibration speed or pattern. I prefer a constant steady vibration but if you prefer more of a sporadic pulsating vibration, they have that too.

The motor is powerful and yet it's quiet. There's no loud buzzing sound. To Switch off, just hold the button down for a couple of seconds. I like that it only has one button to operate, makes this product easy to use without multiple switches or knobs to turn.

It is incredibly sleek, fits in your pockets... and is much smaller than regular lipstick type vibrators.

Mini Portable Nipple Pump
This Mini Portable Nipple Pump intrigued me. What would it feel like? Well, if you like having your nipples stimulated during sex and foreplay, you will love this pump.
It's made of a high quality silicone which doesn't smell and it feels nice and flexible. The suction cup fits most nipples, and is slightly transparent so you can see the nipple in there, being stimulated. This is a good visual, even when using this as foreplay with your partner.
Squeeze the pump and place the suction cup onto your nipple. It will latch on and stay put, without having to hold it there. The suction strength is adjustable, depending on how much your squeeze the pump, so no worries about it hurting.

I find the suction on it's own already a turn on... but this toy also has an internal vibrator. The speed is adjustable just by turning the black knob on the end. Over all, I find this a very simple product to use, and it does deliver a pleasurable amount of nipple stimulation.

LELO Anti-Bacterial Toy Cleaning Spray
LELO is an established adult toy brand that I have used before, it's a brand I trust for great quality. The
LELO Anti-Bacterial Toy Cleaning Spray can be used not just on LELO toys but all other brands of sex toys too.
This spray has active- microbial ingredients proven to kill 99.9% of all the germs, with added zinc salts to reduce any chance of irritation at all. LELO Antibacterial Spray also contains anti viral and anti fungal properties within a pH balanced formula, making it the safest and most effective choice for cleaning your toys.

It's convenient to use, just spray onto your toy...
... and wipe off with a soft cloth or tissue. Great spray to have by my bedside so I don't have to bother washing my toys in the sink all the time.

Whether you're a novice when it comes to sex toys and accessories, or someone who knows what she wants and likes... Cherry Affairs is a good place to get something to suit you. Click here to shop at Cherry Affairs and check out theCherry Affairs Facebookpage too. Have fun but be good!

1-for-1 Free Flow Prosecco Brunch at Senso on Sundays !!

Last Sunday, David and I went to Senso Ristorante & Bar on Club Street for the Free Flow Italian Prosecco Brunch. Senso is well-known for its authentic Italian fine-dining cuisine and the restaurant itself has such a beautiful setting, I especially love its Tuscany inspired courtyard.
At any given Sunday, I would recommend Senso's Sunday brunch... but what I really want to shout about is that you can get it 1-for-1. Pay for one person and the other eats (and drinks *hic*) for free.
I just used my Entertainer App (more info on the Entertainer app at the end of this blogpost).

Free flow of Prosecco (& Rosé Prosecco)
Helping myself to my favourite cold meats, mozerella and oysters
We're talking a whole buffet spread of Salads, Antipasti, Hot Mains, Pastas, Desserts and more Italian Classics paired with Italian Bubbly. I'm so impressed with the extensive selection of Italy's finest and freshest produce.

Brunch is from 11.30 am to 3pm so you can take your time, the setting of Senso is very classy, and refined yet very comfortable and relaxed at the same time. There's no rushing or big crowds hovering around the buffet table. Staff always kept our glasses topped up and their service and attention to detail is impeccable.
This is unlike most other brunch buffets because here they serve your mains freshly prepared and hot from the kitchen. You have a whole list of choices from fish, meat, pastas, and the list changes every week so you will always have a good variety.
I had the baked seabass. Great presentation and OMG so yummy.
David chose the tenderloin and it was perfectly done.
There was a sorbet and ice cream on the brunch menu to choose, but after one round at the dessert table, I went back for a second double helping of panna cotta instead. It was so smooth, with a delicious vanilla flavour.

The usual price for this brunch is $98++ per person (with free flow Prosecco & Rosé Prosecco). Pay for one person and the other person is free, when you use the Entertainer.

MegRhythm Steam Eye Mask Review

I work on my computer Monday to Friday, staring at the screen and writing my drafts. Plus I spend a good amount of that time side-tracking by doing online shopping and going on Facebook (haha). So usually, I don't give myself many breaks off the computer because I have to push myself to finish all my work before my husband comes home from work. By this time, my eyes are so fatigued!
After working for the day, I find it's important to have a bit of time for myself to relax. Otherwise, I would still feel wound up, and I don't feel good so it ruins my evening... or worse still, I can't get a proper sleep later at night. It's important for me to relax my eyes and give them a break.

For relaxing, I like having a 15 minute power nap or just sit and do nothing (except maybe listen to some music).
I have recently started using the MegRhythm Steam Eye Mask for my little wind-down sessions. It's the latest patented Eye Comfort innovation from Japan! It is an innovative self-warming product that helps to relieve and relax eyes in just 10 minutes. It's already a big hit in Japan and Hong Kong... I'm glad it's finally reached the shelves in Singapore!

These eye masks are individually pack which is very convenient. You can use it for relaxation before bedtime, during breaks in between household chores and work, to aid in sleeping while travelling in airplanes, or on trains, etc, and to relax tired eyes after working on computers.  The usage directions are on the MegRhythm website.

It's so soothing, especially the ones with scents like Chamomile and Lavender which are very relaxing aroma therapies. I use the mask for about 10 minutes, well I don't really time it because I just use it until it starts to lose warmth, which is just over 10 minutes or so. Even when I fall asleep and have it on for way longer, it's ok, there's no harsh chemicals or anything.

It actually starts heating up on its own as soon as you open the individual foil package. The MegRhythm Steam Eye Mask warms gradually to a comfortable 40°C the moment you put it on, with heat spreading to gently envelop your eyes. The steam produced from the heat moistens the skin area around the eyes and relieves tired eyes. Look at this demonstration.

Look at the steam the eye mask created within the glass! It's not super hot or anything so you won't actually see the mask smoking or steaming (that would be too hot for your delicate eye area!). This mask warms up to a comfortable and very pleasurable 40  degrees Celsius.
When I use this eye mask, I just lie back and enjoy the soothing sensation of gentle heat around my tired eyes. The warmth helps to moisten and soothe my eyes. Actually, a long time ago, because my eyesight kept worsening, I was advised by my doctor to relax my eyes daily by cupping my palms over my eyes for 10 minutes. The warmth is supposed to relax the eye muscles and relieve eye strain. I did it a few times but never kept it up (hence I'm blind as a bat now *sad face*), because who can be bothered to cup their hands over their eyes for 10 minutes everyday?!

With the eye mask, it does all the work for me and I look forward to wearing it because it's so pampering, it feels great. It has ear loops so I can roll around in bed, no problem. The steam helps to moisten skin and the heat soothes and relaxes my eye muscles. I can feel the stress melt away from my body, even the muscles on my neck and shoulders relax.

I find that after my de-stressing session with this eye mask, I feel very refreshed and my eyes look so much brighter! I use contact lenses everyday, and my eyes do get very tired and tensed easily. The warmth of this eye mask helps to relax them. They don't feel so dry or tired after a long day.
It costs $6.50 for a pack of 5 pieces of mask, you can get it at Guardian or Watsons stores. And it comes in 4 variants. Treat your tired eyes to steam bath of 40°C. Recharge and brighter eyes now!
